Deputy Marshals

WOJCIECH JANKOWIAK

Born in 1956. Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University and attended postgraduate studies at the Central School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw.

From 1989-1990 he was the Deputy Mayor of the City of Poznań. From 1990 to 1993 he held the position of the Deputy Manager of the District Office in Poznań.

Subsequently, from 1993-1996, he was the Director of the Public Administration Reform Department at the Council of Ministers’ Office. From 1996 to 1998 he was the Deputy Poznań Voivode, and, during the first term of the Wielkopolska Regional Parliament, he was a Member of the Board of the Region, leading to being the Deputy Wielkopolska Voivode from 2001 to 2003.

From 2003 to 2006 he worked in the capacity of the Director of the Department of Regional Development at the Wielkopolska Region Marshal Office. He is a co-author of the Wielkopolska Regional Development Strategy, the EU funds implementation system and the draft of the new Operational Programme for Regional Development in the years 2007-2013.

In November 2006 Local Government elections he became the member of the 3rd term Wielkopolska Regional Parliament from the lists of the Polish People’s Party (PSL).

In the 2010 local elections he was again elected a member of the Wielkopolska Regional Parliament and serves as Deputy Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region. In this position he is responsible for the operation of the Department of Transport, the Department of the Infrastructure, the Chancellery of the Regional Parliament, and the Department of Administration and Public Procurement Office. Subordinate to him are also the Spatial Planning Office of the Wielkopolska Region and the Employment Agency Register of the Voivodship.

On the international front Deputy Marshal Wojciech Jankowiak, on behalf of the Association of Polish Regions, represents our region at the Chamber of Regions and is a member of the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CLRAE) in Strasbourg.

In addition to experience in public administration Mr. Jankowiak also possesses extensive economic experience. He was the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Poznań-Ławica Airport, as well as a long-term member of the Supervisory Board of the company. For two terms he served as a member of the Supervisory Board of Polish Television in Warsaw. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the reactivated Kórnickie Foundation.

He is a member of the Polish People’s Party (PSL), serving as the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Board and a Member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Jankowiak was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of the Republic of Poland.

 

LESZEK WOJTASIAK

Born on the 12th of May 1961.

In the years 1990-2006 he ran his own business in the field of trade, transport, and promotional and marketing services.

From 1999 to November 2006 he held the function of the Chairman of the Board of Private Companies operating in the trade, housing and publishing sectors.

Additionally, from 2002-2006 he provided economic counselling to private investors and foreign investment funds. In 2005 he completed a course for members of the board of directors of State Treasury companies.

Since November 2006 he has held the position of the Deputy Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region.
Additionally:

  • Vice President of the European Network of the Regions of the Lisbon Strategy
  • President of the Working Group for Innovation Strategy of the Convention of Marshals of the Republic of Poland
  • Vice-President of the Voivodship Committee for Social Dialogue in Poznan
  • Representative of the Wielkopolska Region in the European Network of Innovation Alliance
  • Responsible for the implementation of the next-generation broadband network in Wielkopolska Region

Coordinates and implements the economic development of the Wielkopolska Region on European markets and beyond.

Mr Wojtasiak is the only councillor in Poland to be awarded by the Polish Banks Association, the Polish Leasing Association, the National Association of Guarantee Funds, the Polish Association of Loan Funds, the Polish Network of Angels and the Polish Association of Capital Investors with a "Business-Financing-Friendly" AD 2009 figurine for anti-crisis measures in the economy.

 

Additionally, he is an honorary member of the Business Centre Club, due to his promotion of the principles of entrepreneurship and his contribution to the development of the market economy.

The following departments of the Wielkopolska Region’s Marshal Office are subordinated to the Marshal: the Department of Regional Policy, the Department of Implementation of the Regional Operating Programme, the Department of Economy, the Department of Healthcare and Addiction Prevention, Funds Management Office.
